The networking hub that links all your computers together can prevent all stations from working when it fails. You may want to proactively hunt down an old 10 Megabit HUB to have as a spare. Make sure it works with your network before you put it on the shelf as a spare. Most of the hubs in the stores today will not work, and you will likely have trouble finding a hub locally in the event of an emergency.
